Please use extreme caution when considering advice posted by the public on this board, especially from those who are not trained, certified or experienced as an Evinrude BRP/OMC technician.
This board only supports and endorses advice given by Ralph "Outboard Wizard" - Owner
Just a reminder: We do not review or correct messages posted by members or people who randomly visit this board.
Use extreme caution, when reviewing or considering taking any advice from ANYONE who posts here, other than Ralph, Outboard Wizard (Certified BRP/OMC dealer).
Up to this time we have offered FREE technical advice/help (By phone, email, on-site) - All of this is very time-consuming, and as much as we wish we had the time to correct and respond to all posts (especially posts than give incorrect or inaccurate info), this is not possible.
I also would like to advise members to refrain from contacting unknown people that post on the board (obvious danger).
And while we prohibit advertisements and links to other sites (without prior approval from me), it is not possible that I would notice and remove every link or referral found on this board to other sites and businesses.
If your question is urgent and the Outboard Wizard, Ralph has not yet responded on this board to your question, please call him directly at Cell 631-514-1525 (8am to 9pm eastern time) or at the Shop 631-991-4491.

P.S. On a personal note, I am shocked and disturbed by some recent new members who have the audacity to post negative remarks about outboard mechanics in general, here on this board - and who post links to recommend other marine websites...If you do not wish to (sometimes) wait and receive help from Ralph here, by all means go elsewhere - but posting referrals to other dealers or sites is rude, obnoxious and ungrateful...which tempts me to change our format, as many other sites have - whereas they charge $ for technical help - and the many other certified BRP OMC technicians, who refuse to even speak or consider offering free technical help, to boat owners who are not purchasing something.
Nowadays, some even won't take the time to give free advice to their paying customers!
We support and encourage boaters who simply enjoy or want to save time and $ doing repairs themselves.
BTW, Deleting and removing any inappropriate or unwelcome post simply involves "one click" - While I don't have the time or desire to monitor this board constantly, for those who continually post incorrect or inappropriate messages - I will delete and ban them from this board, if necessary.
While I hope to continue this board as a free service, if unwelcome posts continue, we will decide to require $$$ ($20, $30 or more, like so many other sites require..to receive assistance from The Outboard Wizard.
BTW, most outboard technicians charge $100 or higher per hour for troubleshooting - This board is FREE = 000
