I have a 175HP Johnson on a '96 Four Winns. I am
assuming the motor is of the same year/vintage.
This season the thing is having problems starting.
Under the cowl, there is a small red lever with a
shrader valve on it.
I have found that if I screw around with the red
lever, and crank it over, it starts, then I re-adjust
the lever back to where it was and it's all fine.
How do I set/adjust this lever, what is it's purpose?
Any thoughts?
Last year the thing would run crappy at low idle, stall
and require a few restarts before running again.
Thanks
